The new generation of environmental activists is quite geeky, so gadgets and online applications are really popular among the green folk. I’ve decided to give Twitter another go but this time I’m going to approach it differently. What lacked the first time around, and why I subsequently dropped Twitter was lack of a vision and lack of tools.
I’ve got the vision now and I’ve discovered the Tweetingmachine Automated Twitter tools that will make my life easier. It is a cool and convenient web-based application.
The reason why I chose it was its wonderful bulk tweet uploader and scheduler. If you don’t tweet regularly, you cannot build a good follower base. However, we all got life to live and work to do. Here’s a solution: spend a few hours per week writing tweets into an Excel spreadsheet. Then go to Tweetingmachine and upload/schedule the posts over a certain period of time. That’s it, the tool will now tweet automatically for you. What sets the TM apart, is the intuitive and convenient way of setting date and time to your bulk tweets!
Other tools include tweet queueing and feed uploads, that allow you to turn any feed in the world into a valuable tweet stream. Many bloggers use this function to notify their followers of new posts. Direct message fans will appreciate the Auto Reply function that sends a DM to your new followers. There’s also an auto-follow tool that will auto-follow everyone who follows you. I personally don’t recommend using it but, hey, it’s up to you.
Tweetingmachine is also adding a new Facebook functionality. Currently, you can upload scheduled posts to appear on your Wall automatically. The web-based tool set costs $19.99 per month and it is really not much compared to the potential. I know a bloke who’s making $5000 per month selling software on Twitter alone.
