Plot 7 at the Lammas Eco VillageI wrote about Lammas Eco Village in Wales a while ago. They’ve marched on with building work and another unit has been finished. It was revealed that the leasehold price on this would be £40,000. The plot was allocated via an application process in which the interested members were asked to create an outline plot plan. Last month they’ve arranged their first guided tour for 150 curious “outsider” spectators and potential green community members. This will encourage other eco village communities to begin working.
Although this is pretty much like our ancestors used to live, it will take some time for the general public to appreciate eco villages and consider slowing down and living in the rhythm of Nature. The next guided tour is scheduled on Saturday 5th June, 2pm. Please visit if you can – you will have a wonderful experience of seeing how a real eco village is being built. Even if you don’t end up living here, you’ll pick up some interesting ideas for your own green home.
