A new interesting co-housing project is about to take off in Leeds. Lilac Mutual Home ownership society – the group behind the unique project – had acquired a disused school site in Bramley (nothing to do with the apple, though). They’ve applied for a planning permission and now actively looking for investors.

It’s quite a big project. 20 affordable eco houses will be built. It is expected they will use straw bale technology. Well, you know how keen I am on straw bale. It’s a great material making it possible to build walls in a quick and inexpensive manner.

The investments are invited on a Loanstock Offer basis. It’s a great ethical investment opportunity, which gives the investor a decent return on money and a chance to support a community and be part of a ground-breaking eco-village.

In the next few years, as we all become more aware of green materials and building methods, we might experience a real boom in eco housing with eco villages popping up all over the country. If this idea seems cool to you, join the Investor Evening on Tuesday, June 23 at 6.30PM. It is going to take place in the Leeds Design Innovation Centre, 46 The Calls, LS2 7EY Leeds or check Lilac for more information.
