Green Urban Experiment at Victoria London

How is one of the most popular parts of the capital embracing the modern green urban scene? Capita Symonds, a large property consultancy company, has been appointed by the London Victoria Business Improvement District (BID) to carry out a string of green infrastructure projects across Victoria.

Along with some well-hidden and low-impact flood management systems, the Victoria BID also wants to encourage living walls and green roof retrofits above large commercial buildings.

The first buildings to receive green roofs are the John Lewis Group headquarters situated on 171 Victoria Street and the Park Plaza Victoria Hotel, 16 Palace Street.

Green roofs, living walls and other small sustainable structures can significantly improve the air quality of a large city without having any negative impact on traffic and space.
