It is amazing what you can unexpectedly find just browsing the web. There’s a nice interior design idea that I discovered on a site whose topic is as far from interior as possible. The guy blogs about search marketing but he’s apparently a talented artist.
Look how he’s constructed this abstract painting using adhesive tapes of different width. The same idea can be applied to an interior design project.
Firstly paint the wall in a colour that you’ll want your stripes to be. Let it dry and then stick the bits of tape on to form different shapes. Now just colour in the shapes and remove the tape. Voila!
You won’t be able to use water emulsion for the main background because you’ll peel bits of paint off as you remove the tapes. However, it is also possible to use this method directly on concrete or a brick wall – then it will have a rough texture that might work quite well. Please consider using an eco-friendly VOC free paint for this project.
