Georgian Reproduction Oval Coffee Table – Solid Mahogany

Lovely Georgian reproduction oval coffee table or cocktail table on three banded legs finished with solid brass plain feet on coasters. The coffee table is made from solid mahogany. It is unusual because most Georgian reproductions come with four feet.

Judging by the tool marks underneath, this oval coffee table was hand-made in mid-century, probably early 1950s because later reproductions come with the horrible lion feet endings. The endings on this table are completely smooth and plain. You can see in the photos the way the feet shine when polished.

Because it’s not a factory-made model, there are some imperfections. The oval coffee table top has been put together from three separate plans rather than using a single mahogany plank, however the joint marks blend in nicely with the rest of the wood grain. There are minor marks and scratches on the table top and underbody consistent with its 60 years of age, however, this table is really charming.

The table top has been sanded back at some point to reveal the wonderful natural wood grain. We treated it with bees wax and you can see the result in the photos – the surface is stunning. It looks like molten metal in direct sunlight. It is a really charming coffee table that would not look out of place next to authentic Georgian furniture.
