Lately it has become trendy converting industrial buildings into apartments. Well, at least here in Britain. I can certainly see the appeal. There’s a particular presence of style, it is different and, yeah, you get a decent height of ceiling.
How about a house that’s never been a factory unit but still looks like one? This luxury townhouse in Adelaide, Australia is a new build and every part of it screams industrial modernism.
For AUD650,000 and limited-size bedrooms, it’s not much house for your money but it is located in a great neighbourhood (a stone’s throw from the Adelaide Botanic Park) and it’s trendy beyond belief so one can expect certain type of people to happily splash out on this luxury townhouse.
There’s nothing in the specs to suggest this was a green home. Of course, you can add solar panels and grey-water recycling system in your imagination but the reason I wanted to show you this was the exterior. Simple and straight to the point!
There’s not much going on in the interior – standard-size (or even below standard) bedrooms and a rather sterile look about it. They should’ve added glass and metal to follow the industrial theme. However, please do check the floorplan – for the size, it is quite conveniently laid out.
