The last year’s entry of Toma Brundzaite, Vilnius Academy of Art, Lithuania still somehow sticks out (at least for me) – it is a dishwasher-slash-dish shelf. The Bifoliate is split in two, with a compartment for the dirty dishes and one for the clean. The dirty dish cabinet uses ultrasonic wave technology to clean the dishes. Once clean, the dishes are moved across to the storage compartment. A tad smallish but cute and space-saving.
As for this year, the eight finalists in this year’s Electrolux Design Lab will present their individual compact living solutions on 23rd September at 100% Design, Earls Court, London.
