The Netherlands based Postcode Lottery Green Challenge has opened for this year’s submissions. If you have a great original idea how to make the planet greener, visit greenchallenge.info and submit your application. They are mainly looking for new technologies and services that can contribute to an eco-friendly lifestyle and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. It should be an economically viable proposal – no pies in the sky please.

The deadline to enter this year’s Postcode Lottery Green Challenge is 31st July 2010. You will find an entry form on their website. Be prepared to answer uneasy questions about your target market, professional background and marketing plan. Well, it’s almost like Dragons Den only greener and less intimidating.

There is a prize money of €700,000 up for grabs for the winner (€500,000) and two runner-ups. Last year there were two Brits receiving the prizes justifying Mr Johnson’s ambition to put Britain at the forefront of the green developments.

Last year’s winner was Dean Gregory – the inventor of the RidgeBlade invisible wind turbine. Winning this competition saw his company “Power Collective” to go from a small group of people with a grand idea to quite a big company with a grand idea. What’s your green idea?
